Daniel Grossberg files to run for Kentucky State Legislature in the 30th District

Frankfort, KY – Friday, January 10, 2020: Democrat Daniel Grossberg filed today for State Legislature in the 30th District and will face 24-term incumbent Tom Burch in the May Primary.

“I believe that our country, our commonwealth, and our city are at a crossroads. We need dynamic new leadership to help us face the challenges that will arise from those kinds of changes,” Grossberg said about his decision to run for office.

Grossberg has represented the district for the last five years as Jefferson County Commissioner. He is a real estate agent and successful small businessman who has been very active in the community.

“I’ve sold real estate in Louisville for over a decade, and I have seen it get harder and harder for working-class families to find affordable housing.” Grossberg went on to say, “One of my focuses will be making housing more affordable.

Grossberg also discussed other issues he plans on addressing in the campaign, “Education is the cornerstone of economic success, and we have to guarantee that we provide a world-class education to all Kentucky children, no matter where they live.” He added, “That means better funding public schools and paying teachers more competitively to recruit and retain the best teachers.”

He has been very active in local and state Democratic politics. Grossberg has been involved in several campaigns, currently serves as president of the Metro Democratic Club, and is a former member of the Kentucky Democratic State Central Committee.

Grossberg’s community involvement includes coaching high school debate teams, volunteering at homeless shelters, serving as an official Ambassador for the Kentucky Humane Society, and volunteering for The Louisville Youth Group

“I look forward to getting to know the voters better and working together to make the 30th a great place to live, work, and raise children.” He concluded by saying.

Grossberg, 41, and his wife Erica, who is a Jefferson County school teacher, and former Mrs. Louisville, live on Roselawn Blvd in Louisville with their golden retriever rescue Bennie.
