Daniel Grossberg files for rematch in Kentucky State Legislature 30th District Race

Frankfort, KY – Friday, January 21, 2022: After a hotly contested primary in 2020, Democrat Daniel Grossberg filed today for State Representative in the 30th District and will face 25-term incumbent Tom Burch in the May Primary.

“Two years ago, when I filed, I stated that the 30th District needed dynamic new leadership to help us meet the challenges that we faced. Those challenges proved to be even greater than we knew at the time, and the current leadership proved even less capable of meeting them,” Grossberg said about his rematch with Rep. Burch, first elected in 1972.

Grossberg has represented the District for the last seven years as Jefferson County Commissioner. He is a real estate agent and a successful small businessman who has been very active in the community.

“Covid has made so many chronic issues worse. I’ve sold real estate in Louisville for over a decade, and I have seen it get harder and harder for working-class families to find affordable housing.” Grossberg went on to say, “Affordable housing is now at crisis levels, and I plan to address that on day one when I get to Frankfort.”

“Education is the cornerstone of economic success, and our current representative abandoned Kentucky students and teachers on key votes in the last session.” He added, “I’ll be there day and night fighting for students and teachers!”
Grossberg has been very active in local and state Democratic politics. He has been involved in several campaigns, currently serves as president of the Metro Democratic Club, and is a former member of the Kentucky Democratic State Central Committee.

He concluded by saying, “Two years ago, it was hard to connect with voters because of Covid, but the voters I did connect with were excited about my message, and many planning on being involved this year. I am confident that this time the 30th will get the representation we deserve.”

Grossberg, 43, and his wife Erica, a Jefferson County school teacher, live on Roselawn Blvd in Louisville with their golden retriever rescues Bennie and Bella.
